Week Four

Today I weighed in at 247.6 lbs! I've lost eleven pounds so far, and I am so excited about it! That means that I've reached my first goal and I can get my ActiveLink actvity monitor!

This week I started training for a 5k. It hasn't been easy, but my boyfriend has been helping me to stay motivated and has been running with me. My measurements this week are 14.5 in. arms, 36 in. waist, 44 in. bust, 51.5 in. hips, and 30 in. thighs.

Week Three

Today I weighed in at 249.8 lbs. My measurements were 43 in. bust, 36.75 in. waist, 52.5 in. hips, and 29.5 in. thighs.

This week I have decided to start working towards running a 5K. I downloaded an app that will help me to reach that goal in eight to twelve weeks. Today I started out with six intervals of walking for one and a half minutes and running for one minute. When finished I had gone a mile and a half! I felt so proud afterwards, and I am looking forward to become a real runner.

So far I have lost 8.8 lbs. I am so proud of the work that I have done so far, but I also realize how far I still have to go. In the last couple of weeks I have realized that I made my goals too challenging to be attainable, and so I am adjusting them.

Day 1 (Again)

Every year people all around the world resolve to change, and year after year after year they fail. The problem is that they expect to become the best versions of themselves overnight. Given the success rate it's obvious that this is practically impossible.

This year, I too am resolving to change, but I don't expect immediate gratification (although that would be nice). In 2013 I hope to transform myself over 48 weeks by losing 82 pounds. This feat seems so huge and unimaginable, but I know that with the love and support of my friends and family I can accomplish my goal.

Today I am officially starting my diet and exercise regimen at 247 pounds. I will meet my goal in four phases losing 20 pounds every twelve weeks (22 in the first phase), that's less than two pounds each week. By April first I should weigh 225 pounds, 205 pounds by June 24, 185 pounds by September 16, and by December ninth I will have met goal of 165 pounds. I am going to once again start tracking my food and exercise on weight watchers. I would like to ask for each and every one of you to encourage and support me during this journey. Ask me about my struggles, and please share your own. If you see me eating something that seems like a poor choice ask me if it fits into my points allowance for that day, or encourage me to eat something healthier. Encourage me to work out, or ask to go on a walk with me. I would love to be there for anyone else who wants to make a healthier life for themselves.

Each day is going to be a struggle. Sometimes I might get irritated with you for asking me these things, but I will do my beat remember that it's all in love. In the long run having that support is going to make this journey just that much easier. Thank you all for being there for me, and I hope that I can be there for you as well.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

It has been far too long since I have updated here, and I truthfully regret that. The past couple of weeks have been a complete whirlwind, and I have been very busy with this crazy thing called life. Today was my first deadline to reach a weight loss goal. It has been fourteen weeks since I started this journey, and I am very proud to say that I was able to meet my goal. I went to a tattoo shop a few weeks ago and was told that I could get both the tattoo on my neck (my first reward), and the one on my foot (meant to be my second) for $70. I was very excited about that number, however I don't have funds right now, so I will be holding off on getting my tattoos for the time being.

I weighed in today at 219.6 lbs. I'm not so happy with that number, considering that's exactly where I was the last time I posted (over a month ago). In the last two weeks I've gained almost four pounds, which doesn't sound that awful, but knowing that I've set myself back a month it sure feels that way. I guess it could be worse. I'm actually kind of surprised that I didn't gain more weight considering how terribly I have been eating and how inconsistent my workouts have been. I promised myself that today I would get back on track with my "diet", however I didn't quite eat as well as I should have. I did track my food and exercise with Weight Watchers, which I have been neglecting the past few weeks. I have already used almost all of my weekly "bonus" points, but at least I didn't go over. The rest of the week I will have to stay right on target so that I can start losing weight again. As long as I am able to get back on track I should be set up to meet my next goal of 200 pounds by mid August (almost a month ahead of schedule). I don't feel as confident as I have in the past about my journey, but I know that once I get back into the swing of things that will change. I just have to do my best to keep moving forward and keep my faith strong.

Here is a picture of me from today. I'm tanner now, and I have a scar that I don't think will ever go away, but I guess that's okay. Other than that I doubt I look much different than my last post.

Mission Accomplished... Sort Of

It's been about two months since I started my weight loss journey, and I am very proud to say that today I met my first goal (a month early)! Today I weighed in at 219.6 lbs. My current measurements are 15.5 inch arms, 48 inch hips, 41.5 inch bust, 33.5 inch waist, and 29.5 inch thighs. When I started working out I was wearing size 18 in my work pants, and those have been getting very baggy in the booty area, recently I bought the same pants in a size 14! I honestly cannot remember the last time that I was a size 14... I've lost more than twenty pounds so far, and I feel incredible. Everything in my life seems to be so much better, and I know that most of that has to do with confidence I have gained from losing weight. I have never felt this strong emotionally or physically before, and I have never been so happy. I know that this is still just the beginning but I believe that I can accomplish anything.
